Garnering User Insights

Meet Megan Garner, UX Strategist and Project Manager

There’s something to be said for our new UX strategist’s ability to advocate for users and structure digital solutions around how they think. Maybe it has to do with her worldliness: the Madison native spent time abroad in Italy, lived in Seattle for 12 years, then returned to Madison before settling in Washington once again this fall. Oh, and she used to be a high school art teacher, too.

Megan’s a major asset on many accounts. With 17 years of classroom teaching experience, her understanding of the educator's mindset is invaluable in our human-centered design work for edtech clients like Education Analytics. In addition to her BS in Art Education and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, she has brushed up her technical knowledge at Madison College’s web and digital media design program. Megan loves to organize information and excels at the big-picture process of design, from concept to launch date, while keeping a laser focus on the details along the way.

Outside of work, there’s even more to Megan. Just take these Proust Questionnaire answers for example.

Which talent would you most like to have?
Being able to play the banjo. I took lessons for a while and practiced a bunch; it just never stuck!

What is your greatest extravagance?
I buy this really expensive yogurt that I LOVE. It's totally overpriced but worth it!

What is your most marked characteristic?
I appear closer than you might think – in part because I'm tall, but also because I have a big voice!

What is your current state of mind?
Excited! After relocating back to the PNW I can’t wait to take my daughter on some real mountain hikes!

Megan and her daughter hiking in Wisconsin.
